School will Re-Open in August 2016
The exciting re-opening of our Sierra Vista campus offers Vacaville families even more options for learning.
Sierra Vista Highlights
Sierra Vista School, which had closed at the end of the 2011 school year, will reopen as a K-8 school for the 2016-17 school year.
Catherine Bozzini, the current principal of Callison Elementary, has been chosen as the principal. If you have questions regarding Sierra Vista, please contact Mrs. Bozzini by email Cbozzini@vacavilleusd.org or by phone 707-453-6250.
Enrollment applications are being accepted at the Educational Services Center at 401 Nut Tree Road.
Please check back for more information about the new Sierra Vista or see VUSD's Measure A site.
There are still a few spots left in each grade level which will now be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
8th Grade Applicants: The numbers are low in 8th grade. A final decision to have 8th grade classes this fall will be made soon. We will continue to accept applications for 8th grade until further notice.
Enrollment is open to ALL K-8 students. Enrollment applications are available online at www.vacavilleUSD.org. Packets must be completed and submitted to the Educational Services Center, 401 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville, 95687.
RECENT NEWS: A New York state man was arrested by federal authorities following an investigation by Vacaville police that included a then 12-year-old victim in Vacaville. Homeland Security agents arrested Robert J. Garneau, 21, of Warwick, New York on charges of online child exploitation.
As social media trends change day to day and technology advancements do the same, keeping up with devices and social media can be challenging for parents. Even parents who are up on social media might be surprised about what aps are now available and what kids can be exposed to.
VUSD and the Vacaville Police Department are hosting a free class to help parents learn about current trends, aps, devices capabilities and dangers that face our kids.
Join us, Wednesday, June 1st, 6:30 PM at Educational Services Center, 401 Nut Tree Rd. Vacaville in the Board room.
Official Acceptance Letters
You will be receiving official acceptance letters in the mail by May 6th. Most of you received a phone call letting you know you were accepted to Sierra Vista School. We are receiving enrollment packets daily and at this rate we anticipate we will be full by the end of June. Once we are full, students will be placed on a waiting list. If you change your mind about attending Sierra Vista, please let us know right away so we can open up the spot for students on our waiting list.
